Letters received, 1826-1852.

Letters received from persons in Philadelphia, New York and elsewhere, most of which pertain to legal matters (especially debt collection). Among the correspondents is former Salem resident Aaron Ogden Dayton (2 letters: 1828), writing from New York City. Accompanying Macculloch's correspondence are two apparently unrelated letters written by Quakers. These letters were addressed by family members to (the same?) Samuel Allen in two locations: at Mannington, Salem County, in 1844 and at Philadelphia in 1852.
